Macaque: The Clever Trickster

Macaques are among the most intelligent and adaptable primates, and "Miko," the youngest macaque at the zoo, is a perfect example of their playful nature. Miko loves to explore his environment, climbing ropes, swinging from branches, and interacting with the rest of his troop.

Miko’s day starts with a breakfast of fresh fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Zookeepers often hide his food in puzzle feeders, encouraging him to use his problem-solving skills. Watching Miko open these feeders or use sticks as tools always amazes visitors, highlighting his intelligence.

The social structure of the macaque troop is fascinating to observe. Miko often engages in playful wrestling matches with the younger macaques, while the older ones watch from the sidelines. Grooming sessions are a common sight, showcasing their strong bonds and social hierarchy. Visitors leave with a newfound respect for these clever and dynamic animals.
